In fact, we are recruiting and reorganising - and we want your help.
We're rebuilding the party - not simply to "keep the bastards honest" but to bring balance and reason back into the policy debate.
We are back to remind anyone that will listen that there is a place in the centre of politics where you can care about the environment AND business growth.
...Where you can care about children AND Internet freedom.
...Where you can have a healthy economy AND have the essential services you and your family expect.
To be an Australian Democrat, you simply need to believe our system can withstand more than the two rigid sets of ideas we've been offered... that our representatives should represent real people, and not boxed-in ideologies.
HOW WE DO IT
There are five easy things you can do to help the Australian Democrats rebuild
1. Join the update list for free. Get regular updates and news from the Australian Democrats before anyone else.
2. Join us as a full member and have a direct role in steering our future. (Just $25/yr for standard membership, $10/yr for students and pensioners.)
3. Tell everyone you know that might be interested in a different option for our future that the Australian Democrats are rebuilding.
4. Tell us how you'd like to help. If you're a professional artist, illustrator, designer, campaigner, lawyer, accountant, some kind of celebrity, or simply have a lot of time and want to contribute to Australia's future, let us know.
5. Donate to help fund party activities like holding events, processing all the new memberships, and keeping the lights on.
This country needs deliberate, well thought-out policies, and we're going to be pushing for them. You can be part of something historic and critically important.
