To the Honourable the President and Members of the Senate in Parliament assembled:
The petition of the under signed supports the use and promotion of open
source software by the Federal Government and its agencies.
We are opposed to the dominance of proprietary software on the grounds
that there are better and cheaper alternatives that create jobs, build
community spirit, encourage technological innovation and are built on
the principals of openness and collaboration.
Your Petitioners call on the Senate to debate the Financial Management
and Accountability (Anti-Restrictive Software Practices) Amendment
Bill 2003 and request that all Senators support it.
