Dear Friends
The Democrats recently allowed a heavily amended version of the Australians Working Together Bill to pass the Senate after gaining significant improvements. Given the level of concern and interest this Bill raised over so many months, I thought you may be interested in some extra information about the outcome.
I would also like to emphasise that this issue is completely separate from the proposed changes to Disability Pensions. The Democrats have been unable to gain the many necessary changes made to this Bill and remained opposed to its passage.
