A new event for this weekend's Big Australian Democrats Get Together has been added in the Northern Territory - making this a truly nationwide initiative.
There are now events in Brisbane, Townsville, Bundaberg, Gold Coast, Sydney, Gosford, Lismore, Armidale, Canberra, Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, and Launceston plus a virtual get together on Facebook.

Australian Democrats get together this weekend
The Australian Democrats are hosting a national get together event this weekend as part of it rebuilding efforts.
Australian Democrats will be gathering all over the country to have some fun and celebrate the start of the rebuilding process. With events from Townsville to Launceston to Perth, Australian Democrats have already shown they are still here in numbers, and are committed to rebuilding the party.
"There are so many new members, as well as old members returning, we thought it would be great to just get them all together," said National President Julia Melland.
Since the rebuild process started in early April there has been a surge in new members and renewing members, as well as an increase in donations and people volunteering to help the party. Ms Melland says the party elders have been overwhelmed by how many Australians still support the party.
"We were hoping for an event in every State. We got a lot more than that, with ordinary supporters more than willing to put up their hand and host an event this weekend."
The party is encouraging those who are interested in or curious about the Australian Democrats to go along to an event in their area to meet some Australian Democrats members and find out what it is all about.
