2nd Big Australian Democrats Get Together on October 24-25
The Australian Democrats will be hosting another national get together event as part of it rebuilding efforts.
On the weekend of October 24 and 25, Australian Democrats will be gathering all over the country to have some fun and contribute to the rebuilding process. This event follows the first successful Get Together that the party held in June, which saw Australian Democrats meeting in every state and territory.
"We are confident that we can better the June effort with more events and more people attending," said National President Julia Melland.
Since the rebuild process started there has been double digit growth in membership every month, as well as an increase in donations and people volunteering to help the party.
"We have been greatly encouraged by the response to rebuilding so far, and the willingness of Australians to get involved and help with things like completely reviewing our policies." Ms Melland said. "Rebuilding a party is hard work and we are grateful there are so many hands eager to help. It’s also great to see those hard working Democrats kick back and enjoy each other’s company."
Ms Melland encouraged those who are interested in or curious about the Australian Democrats to go along to an event in their area to meet some Democrats and find out what it is all about.
"The events that are being held as part of the 2nd Big Australian Democrats Get Together aren’t formal meetings, they are just a bit of fun and a good excuse for Democrats to catch up. So check the website or facebook, RSVP if required and just go along - the more the merrier!"
