Lisa Griffiths contests WA election

WA State President Lisa Griffiths will be contesting the new state electorate of Bibra Lake as an independent candidate in the upcoming WA state election in March.

Due to the changes made to the WA Electoral Act by the McGowan government, the WA division of the Australian Democrats did not meet the stringent registration requirements by the deadline to contest the WA election, meaning that we are unable to run Democrats candidates in this election.

Lisa is a passionate advocate for her community, and has chosen to run as an independent candidate in Bibra Lake with the support of the WA division.

She is a medical scientist (BSc, MBA) and has been working in diagnostic pathology in public health for 29 years. She is a mother of three, nan of four (five if we include Billy the dachshund), and grew up, went to school and remains a south of the river resident in Perth.

She is committed to the Australian Democrats values of integrity, transparency and trust and is passionate about returning accountability to the WA parliament. We’re proud to support Lisa’s campaign and wish her all the best!
