The Australian Democrats have today launched a brand-new national website — a faster, clearer online home for the party, built in-house by its volunteer IT team.

The new site brings the party’s candidates, policy platform, media centre and interactive experiences together in one place, with a refreshed design and a focus on accessibility and speed. It reflects the same principle that has guided the Democrats since 1977: do the work properly, and keep the bastards honest.
“A political party’s website should respect the people using it — quick to load, easy to navigate, and honest about who we are,” a spokesperson said. “That’s what we’ve built, and we built it ourselves.”
